You need time! Let’s face it: You don’t have the time to practice as much as needed in order to drastically improve. Most adults work a busy schedule and when we do have time, that precious time is devoted to playing an actual round of golf, not practicing! As busy adults, often with families and full time jobs, we don’t consistently have four hours a week to practice in addition to our weekly round of golf.  And, by the way, four hours would be the bare minimum needed to commit to practice in a week in order to get results. So we go to the driving range thinking we are “practicing” by hitting golf balls and trying to execute “tips” we have read about.  We tell ourselves we are practicing. Yet what we are doing doesn’t resemble anything close to the definition of practice. Practice is simulating game-type situations in order to prepare for a real game. Our proposed solution: Allow the time playing actual rounds of golf also serve as your practice time. This will make the most out of the time you have available by forcing you to focus on each shot set before you in the time you devote each week to your regular playing round.

scratchgolfer®.org has created an award and recognition program. Our scratchtracker will keep you motivated and focused during your weekly round of golf. You need to have some pressure on each shot in order to improve, that is why we propose tracking "the game within the game". Our scratchtracker program will track fairways hit, greens in regulation, number of putts and penalty strokes. As a member of our community, you will be given a trophy room! Yes, as you accomplish different levels of success in one of our four key categories, you will be awarded a trophy to be displayed in your personal trophy room. This trophy room is viewable on your profile page. Your friends will receive announcements each time you break through to another level and are presented with a virtual trophy. The system will not only track your success, but make practicing and playing more fun, thus keeping you focused on the task at hand- transforming your golf game.

This way your weekly round of golf is constantly being measured; every shot now has a purpose and every shot now counts. Too often one or two bad holes will keep us from scoring well because we lose focus and concentration, but with our system this is avoidable. Your goal is simple: Hit a fairway and then hit the green in regulation. If you miss the green in regulation, then try to chip it as close as possible for a one putt and up and down. Every putt counts, every tee shot counts, and every iron into a green is counting toward your statistics.  Statistics that are being tracked week after week, round after round, all counting toward a virtual online award recognition system! Now every shot in a round of golf actually means something. Our scratchtracker will cause you to focus more and get the most out of your round. This allows you to maximize the time you have available to improve.

You will now be practicing with a purpose and your improvement will be imminent!

Improvement on the steep side of the curve takes unbelievable perseverance to stay on task week after week, month after month and year after year. As adults, we don’t have the support system we did when we were younger and playing other sports. You need to be surrounded by like-minded individuals. When you played other sports or excelled at anything, you had your teammates helping to push, challenge and motivate you. You had others going through the same process, experiencing the same challenges and this propelled you to achieve. In summary, with scratchgolfer®.org you will be involved in a community supporting and encouraging one another just like when you played other sports. By creating an online profile and sharing your background, experiences and goals, you are claiming what you want. Remember when you had peer pressure while playing other sports? Peer pressure is good; accountability is what is missing from your golf game! If our goals never get out of our minds, they are unlikely to be achieved. Setting goals and asking for advice from those who have gone through what you are now experiencing is a basic principle in achieving success in business and life. Your golf game is no different. Use the mistakes that others have made to cut your learning time in half. Yes, people are willing to share. Why? Because by sharing, they instill their lesson even more solidly in themselves. In essence, they help themselves by taking lessons they have learned and turning those lessons into habits by sharing and thus solidifying those lessons even more in themselves by teaching others. You’ve heard the saying, “The teacher gets more from the experience than the student”. Sharing actually helps reinforce the desired outcome to the “deliverer” of the information. This is a two-way learning experience. At times you will be learning and being held accountable, and at other times you will be sharing your own lessons. In short, you need to get “plugged-in” with other like-minded individuals. Let scratchgolfer®.org hold you accountable to your goals by bringing others into your world. Our community will provide the forum for you to document your golfing goals and provide a support system to encourage you in your pursuit.
